What is Iretomiwa on the internet?

I spend a lot of time on the internet and I see a lot of interesting things. This section of my blog would be my attempt at documenting gisting about them with you guys.

MUSIC

I have really been enjoying listening to Olivia Rodrigo’s “Sour” album. My favorite songs are good for you and driver’s license. Speaking of good for you, I went to YouTube to watch the video, and the numbers shocked me. As of when I am writing, the music video to this song has 114 million views. People of God, it was released a month ago. How is this even possible?

I have also been listening to While we wait by Kehlani. It is not a new album but it still feels very warm. Another song, I have been enjoying is MI, new song with Oxlade. I also really, really like Ladipoe’s feelings music video.

PODCASTS

I would like to start by saying that you people should join me in prayers. My podcast app has refused to open for like a week now. I have barely been able to listen to podcasts. Feel like an addict that has been forced to quit cold turkey.

The only podcast I have been able to listen to now is “The Bible for Normal People” podcast by Pete Enns and Jared Byas. I am going to highlight the stand-out episodes.

The Bible for normal People (internet)

THE BIBLE AND FILM

I liked the way the guest, Rhonda Burnette-Bletsch, was able to show “the Bible” in movies. She did this even in movies that didn’t have a clear ‘Christian religious theme”. Also, I learnt there are people that study the Bible and film.

FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE GOSPEL OF MARK

In this episode, I learnt that Mark is the oldest gospel. Also saw the overarching theme of Mark, which I didn’t see before. Generally, I found this episode fascinating.

TELLING THE TRUTH ABOUT JESUS WIFE

This episode was incredibly interesting. The episode is about how a work of forgery created the story of Jesus having Mary Magdalene as his wife. This interested me because I remember hearing this when I was younger. It was lovely to hear an investigative journalist, the guest breakdown the details.

READS

I have been reading marketing stuff and listening to audiobooks. The one stand-out read that wasn’t work stuff was Chimamanda’s essay. I would like to first state that I have been waiting for her to reply since. Was aware of the story as it was unfolding (at least the public aspect), so I have been waiting for her reply.

Aside from the fact that she didn’t miss, the essay is divine. She can write, like write really well. That essay was so good, I have become inspired. I want to be able to write and articulate my thoughts as well as her. Going to go on a journey of consistently reading and writing till I am that clear.

What interesting thing have you seen on the internet recently?
